Now we need to know about the various hardwood floorings available in the market.

The original form of hardwood flooring is the solid wood where strips, parquets and planks of solid wood are available. But laying them is a tough job and there is no chance that you can do it yourself. It is very hardy and if maintained with just a little bit of care, it can last generations.

But people avoid original hardwood flooring because of its cost and difficulty in laying. So they go for engineered wood. Engineered wood is wood and not wood at the same time. It is layers of wood veneer fused together. Good quality wood and bad quality wood are used in manufacture of this material and hence the lower cost. Other advantages are that you can get many designs and textures and these floorings are especially engineered to withstand different weather conditions, chemicals, temperatures and humidity.

Among the toughest of the engineered hardwood floors are the ones where planks of hardwood are given an acrylic coating. This coating makes them resistance to scratches. So the surface stays intact for a long time. So this flooring is very useful for areas with high footfall. Hardwood flooring is also available in two types – the pre-finished and unfinished types. The pre-finished type of hardwood flooring is easy to lay and you can even do it yourself with proper tools.

Small House Design Tips – How to Designing Small Home

Small House Design Tips – How to Designing Small Home

If you think that you have a small place and so it has to be as it is and not decorated then you are wrong and you have come to the right place. I am going to give you some very important tips for your small house deco. Your goal is to make the best use of the available space in every place possible. Don’t let small spaces get you down.. Try these inspiring ideas for saving space, the following are some best tips:

Have plenty of windows in main living areas. This will make your room look bigger.

Use multi-use furniture and creating a non-congested living environment. Try to hang large pieces of wall arts while designing wall displays, this will give the appearance of a larger living space.

Open-floor plans are plans that leave spaces as connected as possible and an open-floor plan will make even small space seem large and open.

Specially cutting space with formal living and dining room are some of the most underused areas in modern homes. Instead of this create more livable areas that also can function as dining areas and can be used for entertaining.

Use textures for interest in a small room because this will also be beneficial. Combining textures in your decor will give a small room interest, appeal, dimension and depth.

This one is should be kept in mind. Mirrors are a great way to create an illusion of space. If you have a wall in front of the entrance as you enter your home, hang a unique mirror on that wall this will add interest to the area.

Instead of creating full walls, use shelving to separate spaces thus creating storage without sacrificing square footage or livable space.

Color has a vital role in a room and it helps a lot to small rooms. It can change the room’s appearance. Use bright colors on the walls. Using bright colors makes a room seem more spacious. For example: Cool colors such as blues, greens, and some picked purples make a small room appear larger and airier. The reverse is true of warm colors such as reds and yellows.

Put few but larger pieces of furniture to make a room appear more open and less cluttered opposed to putting lots of small pieces of furniture in the room and making it congested.

This brings me to the end remember small doesn’t have to be cramped.. With careful planning at the design stage, a small house can feel just as size-appropriate as any larger home.

Minimalist Home Benefits | By ZenHabits

Benefits of a Minimalist Home
I could probably go on for awhile about this, but let me just list a few key benefits:

1. Less stressful. Clutter is a form of visual distraction, and everything in our vision pulls at our attention at least a little. The less clutter, the less visual stress we have. A minimalist home is calming.
2. More appealing. Think about photos of homes that are cluttered, and photos of minimalist homes. The ones with almost nothing in them except some beautiful furniture, some nice artwork, and a very few pretty decorations, are the ones that appeal to most of us. You can make your home more appealing by making it more minimalist.
3. Easier to clean. It’s hard to clean a whole bunch of objects, or to sweep or vacuum around a bunch of furniture. The more stuff you have, the more you have to keep clean, and the more complicated it is to clean around the stuff. Think about how easy it is to clean an empty room compared to one with 50 objects in it. That’s an extreme example, of course, as I wouldn’t recommend you have an empty room, but it’s just to illustrate the difference.
